   Eject the Stylus and SIM Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the bottom left to eject the SIM tray. Pull out both the SIM tray and the stylus from the phone.

   Heat the Back Panel

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on medium heat for two minutes around the edges of the back cover. This softens the adhesive holding the rear panel in place.

   Attach the Suction Cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower third of the back cover and press down firmly. Pull up gently on the suction cup to create a small gap along the bottom edge.

   Insert an Opening Pick

   Slide a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Leave the pick in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.

   Slice the Perimeter Adhesive

   Carefully slide the opening pick around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the remaining adhesive. Keep the pick shallow to avoid damaging internal ribbon cables.

   Lift the Back Cover

   Gently open the back cover from the right side like a book. Be careful not to strain the fingerprint reader ribbon cable connected to the motherboard.

   Disconnect the Fingerprint Reader

   Use a plastic spudger to pop the fingerprint sensor flex connector straight up from the logic board socket. Set the back cover aside.

   Remove Board Bracket Screws

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the 10 screws securing the upper plastic motherboard cover. Organize the screws to ensure correct reassembly.

   Detach the Upper Bracket
