   Remove the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the tray on the side of the phone. Push firmly to eject the tray and remove it completely.

   Remove the stylus

   Press the stylus inward until it clicks, then pull it out from its slot at the bottom of the device.

   Heat the back cover

   Apply a heated iOpener or hair dryer to the back cover edges for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Slice the back cover adhesive

   Attach a suction cup near the bottom edge, pull gently, and insert an opening pick beneath the seam. Slide the pick around the perimeter to sever the adhesive tape.

   Disconnect the fingerprint sensor

   Carefully tilt open the back cover from the right side. Use a plastic spudger to detach the fingerprint cable connector from the motherboard before fully removing the cover.

   Remove the lower speaker screws

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the seven screws securing the bottom loudspeaker assembly.

   Pry up the loudspeaker module

   Insert a plastic opening tool into the notch on the side of the loudspeaker housing and lift it out of the phone.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Use the flat end of a spudger to disconnect the battery press connector from the mainboard to cut power.

   Disconnect the main interconnect cable

   Pry up the bottom end of the long interconnect flex cable connected to the charging port sub-board.

    Disconnect the antenna coaxial cables

    Use tweezers to carefully lift the white and black coaxial antenna cables straight up from their snap connectors on the daughterboard.

    Remove the old charging port daughterboard

    Gently wedge a plastic spudger under the lower edge of the daughterboard and pry it out of the frame housing.

    Position the new charging port board

    Align the replacement charging port sub-board over its recess in the frame and press it down evenly until it sits flat.

    Reconnect the antenna coaxial cables

    Position the coaxial connectors over their mating sockets on the daughterboard and snap them into place using tweezers.

    Reconnect the main interconnect cable

    Press the bottom connector of the interconnect flex cable firmly onto the new charging port board until it clicks.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Snap the battery press connector back onto its terminal on the mainboard.

    Reinstall the loudspeaker module

    Set the loudspeaker module back into place over the lower section of the phone and press down to seat it.

    Secure the loudspeaker screws

    Reinsert and tighten the seven Phillips #00 screws to hold the loudspeaker and charging board firmly in place.

    Connect the fingerprint sensor cable

    Hold the back panel near the phone frame and press the fingerprint sensor flex cable onto its motherboard socket.

    Secure the back cover

    Apply fresh adhesive tape along the perimeter and press the back cover firmly onto the frame for 30 seconds to re-seal.

    Reinsert the stylus and SIM tray

    Slide the stylus back into its slot until it locks, then reinsert the SIM card tray into the side slot.
