Step-by-step
- 1
Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen to shut down the device completely.

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole next to the SIM tray on the top edge and press to release it.

Heat the rear cover
3 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer on medium heat along the edges of the back cover for 2-3 minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive.

Attach the suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower back cover and press down firmly to create a seal.

Insert a plastic prying tool
2 minPull up gently on the suction cup to create a small gap at the bottom edge, then insert a plastic opening pick.

Slice the perimeter adhesive
4 minSlide the plastic pick around all four sides of the phone to cut through the adhesive seal.

Lift the rear cover slightly
2 minGently hinge the rear cover open from the left edge, taking care not to pull on the fingerprint reader flex cable.

Disconnect the fingerprint reader cable
2 minUse the pointed end of a spudger to pop the fingerprint sensor press connector directly off the motherboard.

Remove the rear cover

3 minRemove the seven Phillips #000 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker assembly to the frame.

Install the new loudspeaker
2 minPosition the replacement loudspeaker module into the lower frame recess and press gently until it snaps into place.

Secure the loudspeaker housing
3 minReinstall and tighten the seven Phillips #000 screws to hold the loudspeaker in place.

Reconnect the fingerprint reader cable
2 minAlign the fingerprint sensor flex connector over its motherboard socket and press down until you feel it click.

Reattach the rear cover
3 minApply pre-cut adhesive strips along the phone's frame edges, then press the back cover firmly into place.

Reinsert the SIM card tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the frame until it is flush.
