Step-by-step

Eject SIM Card Tray
2 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left edge of the device. Firmly press inward to pop the tray out and remove it completely.

Heat Back Cover
3 minApply heat around all edges of the plastic back cover using a heat gun or hairdryer for roughly two minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPlace a suction cup onto the lower third of the back cover and pull upward firmly to create a tiny gap between the cover and frame.

Unseal Back Cover
5 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slice along the bottom and side edges to separate the adhesive.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor
3 minSlightly lift the back cover, then use tweezers to unclip the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector from the motherboard before removing the cover completely.

Remove Midframe Screws
5 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the plastic motherboard bezel and the bottom loudspeaker housing.

Pry Off Upper Bezel
2 minInsert a plastic opening tool beneath the upper motherboard shield and pry upward to snap it free from the phone body.

Disconnect Battery Cable

6 minAttach the suction cup near the bottom edge of the glass, pull upward, and insert a pick into the gap to slice through the perimeter seal.

Remove Damaged Screen
3 minCarefully feed the display flex cable out through the frame slot as you lift the old screen entirely off the frame.

Clean Frame Residue
5 minScrape away leftover adhesive fragments from the display bezel using tweezers and clean the perimeter with high-concentration isopropyl alcohol.

Apply Screen Adhesive
4 minLay down fresh, pre-cut adhesive strips along the inner perimeter lip of the phone frame.

4 minThread the ribbon cable of the new screen through the frame slot and carefully align the panel over the body.
