Step-by-step

Eject SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left side of the phone and press firmly to eject it.

Heat the back panel
3 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the edges of the back panel for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup
2 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull upward to create a small gap.

Slice back panel adhesive
5 minInsert an opening pick into the gap and slowly slide it along the edges to slice through the adhesive.

Lift the back cover
2 minGently lift the right edge of the back cover like a book, taking care not to strain the fingerprint sensor cable.

Disconnect fingerprint sensor
2 minUse a plastic spudger to pry the fingerprint sensor flex connector straight up from the motherboard socket.

Unscrew loudspeaker assembly
3 minRemove the seven Phillips #00 screws securing the lower loudspeaker module to the frame.

Pry out loudspeaker module
2 minInsert a spudger under the plastic lip of the loudspeaker housing and gently pry it out of the chassis.

Clean speaker recess
3 minRemove any leftover adhesive or debris from the loudspeaker frame area using tweezers and isopropyl alcohol.

Install replacement loudspeaker
2 minPosition the new loudspeaker assembly over the lower frame and press down firmly until it snaps into place.

Secure loudspeaker screws
3 minReinstall the seven Phillips #00 screws into the loudspeaker assembly until snug.

Reconnect fingerprint flex
2 minAlign the fingerprint sensor press connector over its socket and press down until it clicks into position.

Apply new cover adhesive
4 minPeel and apply fresh pre-cut adhesive tape along the perimeter of the inner phone frame.

Reseal back cover
2 minAlign the back cover with the frame and press firmly along all edges to seat the adhesive.
