   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power off' on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole beside the SIM tray on the side of the phone. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it.

   Heat the back cover perimeter

   Apply heat around the edges of the back cover using a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat for 2 minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the rear panel.

   Attach a suction cup

   Press a suction cup onto the lower half of the back cover near the bottom edge. Pull gently upward to create a slight gap between the cover and the frame.

   Insert an opening pick

   Insert the tip of a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Do not insert the pick too deeply to avoid damaging internal ribbons.

   Slice the back cover adhesive

   Slide the plastic pick carefully around the entire perimeter of the phone to cut through the remaining adhesive. Reapply heat if the pick starts to bind.

   Lift away the back cover

   Gently lift the back cover off the chassis and set it aside in a clean area.

   Remove the lower speaker screws

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower speaker and sub-board cover housing.

   Remove the speaker housing

   Insert the flat edge of a spudger beneath the speaker housing and pry gently to unhook it from the frame. Lift the housing out of the phone.

    Disconnect the battery flex cable

    Locate the battery connector on the motherboard and use a plastic spudger to unsnap it directly upward. Disconnecting power prevents electrical short circuits during repair.

    Disconnect the main flex cable

    Use the edge of a spudger to pry up the main interconnect flex cable connector from the charging port sub-board.

    Disconnect the antenna coaxial cable

    Use fine tweezers to grab the head of the antenna coaxial cable connected to the sub-board and carefully lift it straight up off its socket.

    Remove the charging sub-board screw

    Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the single screw holding the charging port sub-board to the phone frame.

    Pry out the defective sub-board

    Insert a spudger under the edge of the charging port sub-board and lift it out of its recess in the frame.

    Set the new charging sub-board into place

    Position the new charging port sub-board into the lower recess of the phone, ensuring the USB-C port aligns precisely with the frame cutout.

    Secure the sub-board screw

    Reinstall and tighten the Phillips #000 screw to lock the new sub-board into the frame.

    Reconnect the antenna coaxial cable

    Align the antenna cable connector directly over its socket on the new sub-board and press down gently until it snaps into place.

    Reconnect the main flex cable

    Align the interconnect flex cable connector over the sub-board terminal and press down firmly until you feel it click.

    Reconnect the battery flex cable

    Snap the battery connector back onto the motherboard terminal to restore power connections.

    Reinstall the speaker housing

    Place the speaker housing back over the lower assembly and press down until it snaps flush with the frame.

    Tighten the speaker housing screws

    Reinstall all the Phillips #000 screws into the speaker housing until snug. Do not overtighten.

    Reseal and press the back cover

    Apply new adhesive strips along the phone frame perimeter, align the back cover, and press firmly along all edges to seal it.

    Reinsert the SIM card tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the phone until it sits flush.
