Step-by-step
- 1
Turn off phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select power off to turn off the device completely.

Eject SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the small hole beside the card tray and press firmly to release it.

Heat back cover
2 minApply warm air from a heat gun evenly along the rear edges of the phone to soften the adhesive.

Slice rear adhesive
3 minInsert a plastic opening pick between the back cover and frame, then slide it around the perimeter.

Lift back cover
2 minGently tilt the back panel open from the right side, taking care not to strain the fingerprint flex cable.

Disconnect fingerprint reader
2 minUse a spudger to pry the fingerprint reader ribbon cable connector off the motherboard bracket.

Remove lower screws
3 minUnscrew the seven Phillips #000 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker cover to the frame.

Pry up speaker module
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the notch of the loudspeaker housing and pop it free.

Remove faulty speaker
1 minLift the old loudspeaker assembly out of the phone frame and set it aside.

Clean speaker housing
2 minUse tweezers and isopropyl alcohol to clear away any adhesive residue or debris in the recessed area.

Insert replacement speaker
2 minPosition the new loudspeaker module over the lower cavity and press down until it sits flush.

Fasten speaker screws
3 minReinstall the seven Phillips #000 screws to hold the loudspeaker assembly firmly in place.

Reconnect fingerprint reader
2 minAlign the fingerprint sensor cable over its socket and press straight down until it snaps closed.

Apply fresh adhesive
3 minLay pre-cut adhesive strips around the perimeter of the phone housing to ensure a tight seal.

Secure back cover
2 minAlign the back panel with the frame and press firmly around all edges to bond the adhesive.

Reinsert SIM tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into the phone slot until it locks flush with the side frame.
