   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole beside the SIM tray. Press firmly to pop the tray out and remove it.

   Heat the back cover

   Apply heat around the edges of the back cover with a heat gun for two minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower portion of the back panel. Pull up gently to create a small gap near the bottom edge.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide an opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Keep the pick shallow to avoid damaging internal components.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Slide the pick around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the adhesive. Reapply heat if the adhesive hardens.

   Tilt open the back cover

   Carefully lift the edge of the rear cover like a book. Do not pull it away completely yet, as a flex cable remains attached.

   Disconnect the fingerprint sensor cable

   Use a plastic spudger to pry the fingerprint reader flex connector straight up from the motherboard.

   Remove motherboard bracket screws

   Unscrew the Phillips #000 screws securing the plastic motherboard protective bracket and set them aside.

    Remove the motherboard bracket

    Pry up the plastic motherboard shield using a spudger and lift it out of the phone.

    Disconnect the battery flex cable

    Locate the battery press connector on the motherboard. Pry it straight up with the flat end of a spudger.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol

    Apply a few drops of 99% isopropyl alcohol around the battery edges to weaken the adhesive underneath.

    Unseat the adhesive pull tabs

    Locate the adhesive pull tabs at the edge of the battery and peel them up carefully with tweezers.

    Pull out the adhesive strips

    Pull the adhesive tabs slowly at a low angle away from the battery until the strips stretch out completely.

    Remove the old battery

    Gently lift the battery out of the frame using a plastic opening tool. Never pry against the battery with metal tools.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Place new adhesive strips onto the replacement battery back side, then peel off the protective backing liners.

    Install the replacement battery

    Align the new battery in the housing recess and press down firmly to secure the adhesive.

    Connect the battery cable

    Align the battery flex connector over its motherboard socket and press down until it snaps into place.

    Reinstall the motherboard bracket

    Position the plastic motherboard cover back over the board and secure it with the Phillips #000 screws.

    Reconnect the fingerprint sensor cable

    Hold the rear cover near the frame and press the fingerprint sensor flex connector back onto its motherboard socket.

    Apply back cover adhesive

    Place pre-cut adhesive tape along the frame perimeter and peel off the protective film layer.

    Seal the back cover

    Align the back panel with the body and press firmly along all edges to set the new adhesive.

    Reinsert the SIM card tray

    Slide the SIM tray back into its slot on the side of the phone until it sits flush.
