   Power down the device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Remove SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole beside the card tray. Push firmly until the tray ejects, then remove it completely.

   Heat the rear panel

   Apply heat evenly around the outer edges of the back cover using a heat gun for two minutes. This softens the factory adhesive sealing the rear panel.

   Create an opening gap

   Attach a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull upward gently. Insert an opening pick into the seam that appears.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Slide the plastic pick along the sides and top edge to cut through all remaining glue. Keep the pick shallow to prevent damaging interior flex cables.

   Lift off back cover

   Carefully separate the rear glass panel from the frame. Set the back panel aside in a clean location.

   Unbolt lower speaker bezel

   Remove the Phillips #000 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker cover to the frame.

   Remove speaker module

   Insert a flat plastic spudger beneath the loudspeaker housing and pry it upward to detach it. Lift the speaker out of the phone.

   Disconnect battery flex cable

   Locate the main battery press connector on the logic board and gently pry it straight up with a nylon spudger. This cuts power to avoid short circuits.

    Disconnect main interconnect cable

    Pry up the flex connector attaching the motherboard to the lower microphone daughterboard.

    Disconnect antenna coaxial cables

    Use fine tweezers to carefully lift the antenna cable heads straight off their press-fit sockets on the lower board.

    Pry up defective sub-board

    Insert the edge of a spudger under the sub-board housing the primary microphone and pry it free from the phone chassis.

    Install new microphone sub-board

    Position the new daughterboard into the lower recess of the frame. Press down lightly to seat it correctly over the alignment pins.

    Reconnect antenna cables

    Align the coaxial antenna connectors over their sockets on the new sub-board and press down firmly until they snap in place.

    Reconnect flex cables

    Snap the main interconnect ribbon cable back onto the lower board, then reattach the battery flex cable to the mainboard.

    Reinstall speaker module

    Place the loudspeaker assembly back into position over the bottom sub-board. Replace and tighten the Phillips screws securely.

    Apply new back cover adhesive

    Clean remaining glue off the frame with isopropyl alcohol, then lay down fresh cut adhesive strips along the perimeter.

    Reseal back cover

    Align the back cover over the phone frame and press down firmly around all edges. Apply even pressure for a few minutes to ensure a firm bond.
