Step-by-step

Power down phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select power off to ensure the device is completely shut down before starting.

Remove SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the bottom of the phone and push firmly to pop out the tray.

Heat back cover
2 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer set to low heat to warm the outer edges of the rear panel for two minutes.

Attach suction cup
2 minPlace a suction cup on the lower portion of the back panel and pull up firmly to create a small gap.

Slice rear adhesive
5 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slice along all four edges to release the back cover adhesive.

Remove back cover
1 minLift the rear cover away from the chassis and place it aside.

Unscrew motherboard shield
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws holding the plastic upper motherboard shield.

Pry off motherboard shield
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the shield and gently pop it off the frame.

Disconnect battery press connector
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to disconnect the battery flex cable from the logic board to prevent short circuits.

Disconnect display flex cable
2 minPry up the display connector from its socket on the lower side of the logic board.

Disconnect interconnect flex cable
1 minPop off the main charging board interconnect cable connector from the board.

Unclip antenna coaxial cables
2 minUse fine tweezers to gently pry up the small coaxial antenna connectors from the edge of the logic board.

Disconnect front and rear camera flexes
3 minUnplug the camera module flex connectors from the logic board using a spudger.

Remove logic board retaining screws
2 minRemove the remaining Phillips screws securing the logic board to the internal chassis.

Lift out logic board
2 minGently insert a plastic opening tool under the edge of the logic board and lift it out of the chassis.
