   Eject Stylus and SIM Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the tray hole on the bottom frame and remove the tray, then slide the stylus out of its dock.

   Apply Heat to Back Cover

   Use a heat gun or iOpener set to 80°C (176°F) around the edges of the rear glass cover for 2-3 minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

   Attach Suction Cup

   Press a suction cup onto the lower third of the rear cover, as close to the bottom edge as possible.

   Slice Bottom Edge Adhesive

   Pull up firmly on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert an opening pick beneath the glass along the bottom edge.

   Slice Side Edges Adhesive

   Slide the opening pick around the bottom corners and up both long edges of the phone to cut through the perimeter tape.

   Lift Off Rear Cover

   Slice through any remaining adhesive around the top camera module and carefully lift the rear cover off the chassis.

   Remove Motherboard Shield Screws

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to unthread the screws holding the upper plastic motherboard shield and NFC coil in place.

   Remove Motherboard Shield

   Pry gently beneath the plastic shield with a spudger and remove the cover assembly from the frame.

   Disconnect Battery Connector

   Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pop the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard terminal.

    Remove Loudspeaker Screws

    Unbolt the Phillips #00 screws securing the bottom speaker housing over the sub-board.

    Detach Loudspeaker Assembly

    Insert a spudger into the notch on the speaker enclosure and tilt it upward to remove it from the phone.

    Unplug the main display and ribbon cable connectors spanning over the battery.

    Soften Battery Glue

    Apply a few drops of 99% isopropyl alcohol or battery adhesive remover around the edges of the battery well.

    Pry Up Old Battery

    Insert a plastic pry card under the battery edge, slowly lifting to break the softened adhesive bonds beneath.

    Grasp the exposed edges of the battery and lift it out of the midframe housing.

    Clean Frame Recess

    Wipe away remaining adhesive residue inside the battery cavity using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

    Install Replacement Adhesive

    Peel the protective backing off new double-sided battery adhesive strips and lay them flat inside the battery well.

    Seat New Battery

    Align the replacement battery into the frame cavity and press down firmly to secure it to the adhesive.

    Reconnect Flex Cables

    Snap the main interconnect cable and the battery flex cable firmly into their respective motherboard sockets.

    Position the loudspeaker housing and top motherboard shield, then secure all previously removed Phillips screws.
