   Heat rear glass panel

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun along the rear cover edges for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach suction cup

   Place a suction handle near the bottom edge of the rear panel and pull upward to create a slight gap.

   Insert opening pick

   Insert an opening pick into the gap created at the bottom edge.

   Slice bottom adhesive

   Slide the pick back and forth along the bottom edge to slice through the adhesive seal.

   Slice side adhesive

   Carefully slide the opening pick up along the right and left seams of the phone.

   Slice top adhesive

   Cut through the remaining adhesive along the top edge using the opening pick.

   Remove rear cover

   Lift the rear cover away from the housing and set it aside.

   Unscrew upper motherboard cover

   Remove the 11 Phillips #00 screws securing the upper midframe shield and NFC coil.

   Remove upper motherboard cover

   Pry up the upper shield using a spudger and lift it off the motherboard.

    Disconnect battery cable

    Use the edge of a plastic spudger to snap the battery press connector straight up off its socket.

    Unscrew lower loudspeaker module

    Remove the 7 Phillips #00 screws securing the bottom speaker cover.

    Remove lower loudspeaker module

    Insert a spudger under the edge of the loudspeaker assembly and lift it out of the frame.

    Disconnect main interconnect cable

    Disconnect the ribbon cable running over the battery at both the motherboard and child board connections.

    Apply adhesive remover

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom edges of the battery.

    Wait for adhesive solvent

    Allow two minutes for the isopropyl alcohol to soften the underlying battery adhesive strips.

    Pry up battery

    Slide a plastic opening card under the side of the battery and pry upward gently.

    Remove old battery

    Lift the loosened battery out of the frame, taking care not to bend or puncture it.

    Clean battery compartment

    Wipe away remaining adhesive residue from the tray using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Lay fresh double-sided adhesive strips into the battery compartment and peel off the protective backing.

    Install replacement battery

    Position the new battery in the well and press down firmly to secure it to the adhesive.

    Reconnect interconnect cable

    Align and press the main ribbon cable back onto its sockets on the motherboard and lower board.

    Reconnect battery cable

    Press the battery connector directly onto the motherboard socket until it clicks into place.

    Reinstall upper midframe cover

    Place the top shield over the motherboard and tighten the 11 Phillips #00 screws.

    Reinstall lower loudspeaker

    Set the loudspeaker module into the lower frame and reinsert the 7 Phillips #00 screws.

    Apply back cover adhesive

    Place a pre-cut adhesive gasket along the perimeter of the phone housing.

    Seal rear cover

    Align the back panel with the frame and press around the edges to fully seal the phone.
