   Turn Off the Phone

   Immediately turn off the Moto Edge 50 to prevent electrical short circuits. Do not attempt to plug in or charge the device.

   Remove the SIM Card Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the bottom edge to eject the SIM tray. Pull the tray completely out of the phone.

   Heat the Back Cover

   Use a heat gun on low setting around the rear glass edges for two minutes to soften the factory adhesive.

   Attach Suction Cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower portion of the rear glass and press firmly. Pull up gently on the ring to create a thin gap.

   Insert Opening Pick

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam created near the bottom edge. Slide the pick carefully along all four sides to slice the adhesive seal.

   Lift Off the Back Cover

   Gently lift the back cover away from the chassis. Set the rear panel aside on a clean, dry surface.

   Unscrew Midframe Cover

   Remove the Phillips #000 screws holding down the upper plastic midframe cover and camera shroud. Keep track of each screw position.

   Remove Upper Midframe

   Insert a spudger under the edge of the midframe and gently unhook the plastic clips. Lift the cover away from the phone body.

   Disconnect the Battery

   Use the flat edge of a plastic spudger to snap the battery flex cable directly off its motherboard socket to kill power.

    Disconnect Board Connectors

    Pry up the display flex, lower interconnect cable, and camera module connectors from the main motherboard.

    Unscrew Lower Speaker

    Remove the Phillips #000 screws holding the loudspeaker assembly at the bottom of the housing. Pry the speaker housing out of the frame.

    Extract Main Motherboard

    Remove any remaining board retaining screws and carefully lift the main motherboard out of the chassis using tweezers.

    Extract Charging Board

    Disconnect the coaxial antenna cables with fine tweezers and pry the daughterboard out from the bottom frame.

    Scrub Motherboard with Alcohol

    Dip a soft antistatic brush into 99% isopropyl alcohol and gently scrub both sides of the motherboard to dissolve corrosion and water residue.

    Clean Daughterboard and Connectors

    Scrub the lower charging daughterboard, USB-C port interior, and all flex cable metal contacts thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol.

    Dry Components with Compressed Air

    Use short bursts of compressed air from a safe distance to blow remaining liquid out of chip underfills and connector housings.

    Reinstall Circuit Boards

    Once fully air-dried, seat the main motherboard and daughterboard back into the chassis. Reattach the coaxial antenna cables tightly.

    Reconnect Cable Connectors

    Snap the display, interconnect flex cables, and camera connectors onto their sockets, then snap the battery connector on last.

    Reinstall Midframe and Speaker

    Position the lower speaker unit and upper midframe over the internal boards. Drive in all Phillips #000 screws until snug.

    Reseal the Back Panel

    Apply new perimeter adhesive tape to the frame edges, press the back glass down firmly, and apply heat briefly to set the seal.
