   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray. Press firmly to pop out the tray and set it aside.

   Heat the back cover

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently warm the edges of the rear cover for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

   Attach suction cup to rear cover

   Place a suction cup on the lower portion of the rear glass near the charging port. Press down firmly to create a seal.

   Insert opening pick

   Pull up on the suction cup to create a slight gap between the glass and frame. Slide a plastic opening pick into the gap.

   Slice back cover adhesive

   Slide the pick carefully around all four edges of the phone to cut through the perimeter adhesive. Reapply heat if the pick gets stuck.

   Remove the back cover

   Gently lift the back cover off the chassis. Set it aside on a clean workspace.

   Unscrew the motherboard midframe

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the upper midframe and camera cover assembly.

   Remove motherboard bracket

   Insert a spudger under the top corner of the plastic midframe shield and gently unclip it from the phone.

    Disconnect the battery flex cable

    Use a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the motherboard.

    Unscrew the speaker enclosure

    Remove the Phillips screws holding down the lower speaker assembly near the bottom of the device.

    Remove the speaker assembly

    Pry up the lower speaker housing with a plastic spudger and lift it out of the phone frame.

    Soak battery adhesive with isopropyl alcohol

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom edges of the battery well.

    Pull adhesive pull tabs

    Locate the battery release tabs, grab them firmly with tweezers, and slowly pull them straight out at a low angle.

    Pry and remove old battery

    Insert a flat plastic spudger under the battery side and gently lever it up from the chassis. Lift the battery out.

    Clean leftover battery adhesive

    Wipe away any residual adhesive tape or isopropyl alcohol residue from the battery compartment using a lint-free cloth.

    Apply new battery adhesive strips

    Peel the backing off new battery adhesive strips and lay them flat inside the battery compartment.

    Install replacement battery

    Align the new battery with the cavity and lower it into place. Press down evenly on the battery surface for 10 seconds.

    Reconnect battery flex cable

    Align the battery press connector over its motherboard socket and press down until it snaps securely into place.

    Reattach speaker assembly

    Set the lower speaker housing back into position over the bottom sub-board.

    Secure speaker screws

    Reinsert and tighten all Phillips screws to secure the speaker assembly.

    Reattach motherboard bracket

    Position the plastic midframe cover over the upper motherboard and press down around the edges to clip it into place.

    Secure midframe screws

    Replace and tighten all Phillips screws that lock the motherboard bracket onto the frame.

    Clean frame perimeter

    Scrape away remaining adhesive from the inner frame ledge using a plastic pick and isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply new rear cover adhesive

    Lay fresh pre-cut adhesive tape along the frame edges, or apply a thin bead of frame sealant around the border.

    Press back cover into place

    Align the rear glass cover over the chassis and press firmly along all edges to seat the adhesive seal.

    Reinsert SIM tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the device until it sits flush.
