   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons simultaneously until the power menu appears. Tap 'Power off' and wait for the screen to go completely dark.

   Remove the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the small hole next to the tray on the bottom edge. Push firmly straight in until the tray pops out, then pull it completely free.

   Heat the back cover edges

   Apply a heat gun or hairdryer along the outer edges of the back cover for about two minutes. Softening the perimeter adhesive helps prevent tearing or damage.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup onto the lower portion of the rear panel. Pull upward gently on the suction cup handle to create a small gap between the panel and frame.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created beneath the back cover edge. Do not insert it more than 3 millimeters to avoid damaging internal flex cables.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Slide the opening pick around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the remaining adhesive. Reapply heat briefly if the adhesive hardens again.

   Remove the rear cover

   Lift the rear panel slowly up and away from the body of the device. Set the back panel aside in a safe, dust-free area.

   Unscrew the upper motherboard bracket

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the top midframe bracket and wireless charging assembly. Store the screws in a organized tray.

   Detach the wireless charging coil assembly

   Insert a plastic spudger under the top edge of the wireless charging assembly. Carefully lift and unclip the coil module from the motherboard chassis.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Use the edge of a plastic spudger to pop the battery flex connector straight up from its motherboard socket. This prevents any short circuits during repair.

    Unscrew the lower loudspeaker module

    Remove the Phillips #000 screws holding down the lower loudspeaker housing over the bottom portion of the phone frame.

    Remove the loudspeaker housing

    Pry up gently underneath the plastic loudspeaker enclosure with a spudger and remove it from the bottom frame.

    Disconnect main interconnect flex cables

    Unplug the interconnect flex cables spanning over the battery to the sub-board. Carefully bend them back out of the working area.

    Warm the front screen frame

    Flip the phone over and apply moderate heat to the lower half of the screen for two minutes to soften the adhesive beneath the battery.

    Unpeel the battery adhesive pull tabs

    Locate the exposed adhesive pull tabs on the top or bottom edges of the battery. Use tweezers to unpeel the tips from the battery casing.

    Pull out the adhesive strips

    Grab one pull tab at a time and pull slowly outward in a flat, horizontal motion parallel to the frame. Continue pulling evenly until the adhesive strip comes completely free.

    Pry up the old battery

    If adhesive remains, insert a flat plastic opening card gently under the side of the battery. Gently leverage it up without puncturing or bending the pouch.

    Remove the battery from frame

    Lift the depleted battery out of the chassis and dispose of or recycle it according to local safety regulations.

    Clean the battery well

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol to a lint-free cloth. Wipe away any leftover adhesive residue from the metal frame recess.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Peel the protective backing off new battery adhesive strips and press them firmly into the battery recess inside the frame.

    Install the replacement battery

    Remove the top film from the new adhesive strips and align the new battery carefully into the chassis recess. Press down firmly for 10 seconds to set.

    Reconnect the interconnect flex cables

    Align the interconnect flex connectors over their motherboard and sub-board sockets and press straight down until they snap into place.

    Reconnect the battery flex cable

    Align the battery press connector over its motherboard terminal and gently press down until it clicks securely into position.

    Reinstall the lower loudspeaker housing

    Position the loudspeaker unit back over the sub-board. Replace and tighten the Phillips screws until snug.

    Reinstall the upper cover and wireless coil

    Position the upper motherboard bracket and wireless coil layer over the motherboard. Fasten all retaining Phillips screws back into place.

    Apply back cover adhesive seal

    Place a pre-cut back cover adhesive gasket onto the outer edge of the frame, or apply thin adhesive tape around the perimeter.

    Seal the back cover

    Align the back panel with the phone chassis and press down around all edges. Apply low heat briefly and clamp or press for several minutes to ensure a tight seal.
