Safety

Step-by-step

Power down the device

Warm the back cover
3 minApply heat around the perimeter of the back panel using a heat gun for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup
2 minPlace a suction cup on the lower portion of the back panel and pull up firmly to create a small gap.

Slice rear adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slice along all four edges to release the back cover.

Remove the back cover
1 minLift the rear panel straight off the phone housing and set it aside.

Eject SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the bottom edge to remove the SIM card tray.

Unscrew upper midframe
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the upper motherboard shield.

Remove upper midframe shield
2 minPry up the plastic midframe shield using a spudger and remove it from the phone.

Disconnect battery press connector
1 minPry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board using a spudger.

Disconnect display FPC flex
1 minUse a nylon spudger to disconnect the display extension cable from the motherboard.

Disconnect sub-board interconnect flex
1 minUnplug the main interconnect flex cable connector attached to the lower portion of the logic board.

Disconnect antenna coaxial cables
2 minUse fine-tip tweezers to gently unclip the RF antenna cable heads from the logic board.

Remove logic board mounting screw
1 minRemove the single Phillips #000 screw securing the logic board to the internal chassis.

Lift out the logic board
2 minGently lever the logic board up from the top corner and remove it from the phone frame.
