   Power off phone and eject SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray. Push firmly to eject the tray and remove it completely.

   Heat rear back cover edges

   Apply a heat gun or heated pad around all four edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the factory adhesive seal.

   Attach suction cup and insert opening pick

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back cover and pull upward gently. Insert a thin opening pick into the gap created between cover and frame.

   Slice through rear panel adhesive

   Slide opening picks around the entire perimeter of the phone to slice through the adhesive. Keep pick insertion shallow near camera island.

   Remove rear back cover

   Carefully lift the rear panel off the housing. Place the panel aside in a clean area.

   Unscrew motherboard cover bracket

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the plastic motherboard shield.

   Pry up and remove motherboard cover

   Insert a plastic spudger under the edge of the motherboard shield, release plastic clips, and lift the shield off frame.

   Disconnect battery flex cable

   Use the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

   Unscrew lower speaker assembly

   Remove Phillips #00 screws securing the bottom speaker and sub-board protective bracket.

    Pry out lower speaker assembly

    Insert a spudger under the notch of lower speaker module and lift it out from bottom frame.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol around battery

    Drip a few drops of high-purity isopropyl alcohol along side margins of battery cell to soften lower adhesive strips.

    Lever battery out of phone frame

    Insert a plastic opening card beneath battery edge and slowly work across well until battery lifts free. Do not pry with metal.

    Clean battery recess

    Wipe away remaining adhesive residue inside aluminum frame using a lint-free wipe dampened with isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Peel protective backing off new battery adhesive strips and lay them flat into battery housing recess.

    Seat new battery and attach flex cable

    Align new battery into cell cavity, press down firmly to set adhesive, then connect battery flex terminal to motherboard.

    Reinstall motherboard cover bracket

    Position plastic motherboard shield over board, press along edges until clipped into place, and reinsert Phillips #00 screws.

    Reinstall lower speaker assembly

    Place bottom speaker module into frame and secure with retained Phillips #00 screws.

    Apply new perimeter adhesive and seal back cover

    Place new perimeter adhesive gasket along frame edge, align rear back cover, and press firmly around perimeter to seal.
