Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then pull it out completely.
- 3
Heat the back cover
3 minApply heat around the perimeter of the back panel using a heat gun for 2 to 3 minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the rear cover.

2 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Do not push the pick in deeper than 5 millimeters to avoid internal damage.
- 6
Slice perimeter adhesive
4 minSlide the pick around all sides of the rear cover to separate the adhesive. Reapply heat if the pick meets heavy resistance.
- 7
Remove the back panel
1 minLift the rear cover straight off the chassis once all adhesive is sliced. Set the panel aside in a safe spot.
- 8
Remove lower frame screws
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws holding down the lower speaker assembly housing.
- 9
Pry up the speaker housing
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the edge of the lower speaker assembly. Gently lever it upward to unclip it from the frame.
- 10
Lift out the old speaker
1 minRemove the faulty loudspeaker module from the bottom section of the phone.
- 11
Position the new speaker
2 minAlign the replacement loudspeaker assembly over the bottom cavity of the device chassis.

Clean existing adhesive
3 minUse high-percentage isopropyl alcohol and a spudger to clear old adhesive remnants from the frame and back panel.
- 15
Apply replacement adhesive
3 minLay fresh custom cut adhesive strips along the perimeter edges of the phone frame.
- 16
Seal the back cover
2 minAlign the back panel with the frame and press down firmly around the edges to establish a tight seal.
