   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the device.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole beside the tray on the left edge and push firmly to eject it.

   Unclip the plastic back cover

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam between the rear cover and the display frame near the SIM slot.

   Detach the rear housing

   Slide the pick around the perimeter of the phone to release all plastic clips, then lift the back cover off.

   Unscrew the upper motherboard cover

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the top plastic bracket.

   Remove the motherboard bracket

   Pry up the plastic motherboard shield with a spudger and lift it out of the phone body.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pop the battery flex connector straight up off its socket.

   Unscrew the loudspeaker module

   Remove all Phillips #00 screws holding the bottom loudspeaker assembly to the frame.

   Remove the loudspeaker

   Insert a spudger under the loudspeaker module and lift it out of the lower chassis.

    Disconnect the display flex cable

    Pry the display flex connector directly off the lower sub-board or motherboard with a spudger.

    Heat the front glass edges

    Apply a heat gun or hair dryer on low setting around the screen perimeter for 2 minutes to soften the glue.

    Attach a suction cup

    Place a suction cup onto the bottom portion of the glass screen and press down to firmly adhere it.

    Slice through the screen adhesive

    Pull up gently on the suction cup to create a gap, then slide an opening pick around the frame perimeter.

    Remove the damaged screen

    Carefully pivot the cracked display off the frame while threading its flex cable through the housing slot.

    Clean old frame adhesive

    Scrape away remaining glue and glass splinters using tweezers and a cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply new screen adhesive

    Lay down pre-cut adhesive strips or apply a thin bead of repair glue along the housing edges.

    Install the replacement display

    Thread the new display flex cable through the slot and press the screen flat and evenly into the frame.

    Reconnect display and battery flexes

    Align and press down on the display and battery cable press connectors until they snap into position.

    Reinstall internal brackets

    Position the loudspeaker and upper motherboard shield back into place and tighten all Phillips screws.

    Snap the rear cover on

    Align the back cover over the phone body and press firmly around the edges until every clip snaps shut.
