Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off to turn off the device completely.

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left frame and push firmly to eject it.

Heat the back cover edges
2 minApply a heat gun set to low heat around the edges of the back panel for approximately two minutes to soften clips and adhesive.

Slice perimeter clips with opening pick
3 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom edge, pull upward, and insert a plastic opening pick into the seam.

Unclip the rear cover
3 minSlide the opening pick around all sides of the frame to release the plastic retaining clips.

Lift the rear cover carefully
1 minSwing the back cover open gently toward the left side, taking care not to pull the attached fingerprint cable.

Unscrew the motherboard bracket
3 minRemove the Phillips #000 screws securing the upper motherboard shield.

Disconnect the fingerprint reader
2 minUse a spudger to pry the fingerprint sensor flex cable off its connector on the motherboard and remove the back panel.

Disconnect the battery cable
1 minPry up the battery press connector using the flat edge of a spudger to prevent accidental electrical shorts.

Disconnect the interconnect flex cables
2 minUse your spudger to unclip the main display cable and lower sub-board flex cable connectors from the board.

Unclip the coaxial antenna cable
2 minGently grip the antenna cable head with tweezers and pop it straight up off its socket on the motherboard.

Remove the camera modules
3 minDisconnect the front and rear camera flex connectors using a spudger, then lift the cameras out of their recesses.

Unscrew the logic board
1 minRemove the single Phillips #000 screw holding the logic board to the internal plastic housing.

Pry out the logic board
2 minInsert a spudger under the top edge of the board and carefully lift the logic board free from the chassis.
