Power down the device
1 minPress and hold the power button until the options appear, then tap Power Off.

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge and push gently to pop it out.

Insert opening pick
2 minInsert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam between the back cover and the screen assembly near the SIM slot.

Unclip the back cover
3 minSlide the pick around the entire perimeter of the phone to release the plastic retaining clips.

Lift the back cover carefully
2 minGently lift the back cover slightly open, taking care not to strain the fingerprint sensor flex cable.

Unscrew the fingerprint cable bracket
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the single screw holding the metal fingerprint bracket.

Disconnect the fingerprint sensor
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to detach the fingerprint sensor press connector from the motherboard.

Remove the rear cover
1 minSet the rear cover assembly aside safely out of your workspace.

Unscrew the speaker housing
3 minRemove the six Phillips #00 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker assembly to the frame.

Remove the loudspeaker
2 minPry up the plastic loudspeaker housing from the bottom edge using a spudger and remove it.

Disconnect the main flex cable
1 minPry up the main interconnect ribbon cable connector from the charging daughterboard using a spudger.

Disconnect the antenna coaxial cable
2 minGently pry up the head of the white antenna cable from the charging daughterboard using precision tweezers.

Pry up the charging board
2 minInsert the flat edge of a spudger under the charging daughterboard and lift it out of the frame.

Position the new charging board
2 minAlign the replacement charging port board into the bottom recessed cavity of the frame.

Reconnect the antenna cable
2 minAlign the antenna coaxial connector over its socket on the new board and snap it into place with tweezers.

Reconnect the main flex cable
1 minPress the interconnect flex cable connector firmly onto the new charging board until it clicks.

Reinstall the speaker housing
2 minPlace the loudspeaker assembly back over the charging daughterboard and press it flat.

Secure the speaker screws
3 minDrive the six Phillips #00 screws back into the loudspeaker housing until snug.

Attach the fingerprint flex cable
2 minHold the rear cover close and snap the fingerprint sensor cable connector onto the motherboard.

Secure the fingerprint bracket
2 minPosition the metal bracket over the fingerprint connector and reinstall the Phillips #00 screw.

Snap the rear cover on
2 minAlign the back cover with the frame and press firmly around all edges until every clip snaps shut.

Reinsert the SIM tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the device.
