Remove the SIM tray

5 minInsert a thin plastic opening tool into the seam between the screen frame and back cover, working your way around to release the plastic clips.

Disconnect the fingerprint sensor
2 minGently lift the back cover slightly and use tweezers to detach the fingerprint reader flex cable from the motherboard before removing the cover completely.

2 minDisconnect the interconnect cable and lift the lower charging port board out of the bottom housing.

Scrub circuit boards with alcohol
10 minSubmerge the motherboard and daughterboard in 99% isopropyl alcohol and gently scrub all visible liquid residue and corrosion using a soft brush.

Dry the circuit boards
15 minBlot the cleaned boards with a lint-free microfiber cloth and allow them to air-dry completely for at least 30 minutes in a well-ventilated area.

Inspect board components under magnification
5 minExamine connectors and small surface-mount components with a magnifying glass to verify all corrosion and mineral deposits are gone.

Reinstall the main boards
