   Power Off the Phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before beginning.

   Eject the SIM Card Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole beside the card tray on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then pull it completely free.

   Pry Open the Back Cover Seam

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam between the back cover and the screen assembly near the SIM slot. Gently twist the pick to loosen the first clip.

   Release the Perimeter Clips

   Slide the plastic pick along the perimeter of the device to release the remaining plastic clips holding the rear cover. Work slowly around corners to avoid cracking the case.

   Disconnect the Fingerprint Cable

   Slightly lift the rear cover without pulling away completely. Use a spudger to pry the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector off the motherboard.

   Remove Lower Housing Screws

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower speaker assembly at the bottom of the phone. Keep track of all removed screws.

   Remove the Speaker Housing

   Insert a spudger beneath the edge of the lower speaker assembly and pry upward to free it from the chassis. Lift the speaker cover out of the phone.

   Disconnect the Interconnect Cable

   Locate the main ribbon cable attached to the daughterboard. Pry its press-fit connector straight up off the board using the flat end of a spudger.

   Disconnect the Coaxial Antenna

   Use fine-tip tweezers to gently lift the white coaxial antenna cable head off its metal socket on the daughterboard. Do not pull directly on the wire.

    Remove the Daughterboard

    Insert a plastic spudger underneath the daughterboard and pry it gently away from the frame adhesive. Lift the board out of the phone.

    Apply Flux to Port Pins

    Apply a generous drop of liquid solder flux over the micro-USB port anchor points and rear data pins. This ensures proper heat distribution and prevents oxidation.

    Desolder the Micro-USB Port

    Heat the mounting pins and solder pads using a soldering iron while absorbing old solder with desoldering braid. Gently lift the worn port away with tweezers.

    Clean the Solder Pads

    Apply clean desoldering braid over the board pads to clear remaining solder from the pin holes. Wipe the area clean using isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab.

    Solder the New Micro-USB Port

    Position the new micro-USB port into the daughterboard alignment holes. Secure the anchor legs and fine data pins using a soldering iron and fresh rosin core solder.

    Reinstall the Daughterboard

    Place the daughterboard back into its housing recess at the bottom of the frame. Press down lightly to set it against the chassis adhesive.

    Reconnect the Antenna Cable

    Align the coaxial antenna head over its board socket. Gently press down with a flat spudger until it snaps securely into place.

    Reconnect the Interconnect Cable

    Position the main ribbon cable press-fit connector over the daughterboard terminal. Press down firmly until you feel it click into position.

    Reinstall the Speaker Housing

    Set the speaker housing cover back over the daughterboard area. Align the screw holes with the phone chassis.

    Secure the Housing Screws

    Insert and tighten all Phillips screws into the speaker assembly. Tighten until snug, taking care not to overtighten and strip the plastic threads.

    Reconnect the Fingerprint Sensor

    Hold the rear cover near the motherboard connector. Use a spudger or finger to press the fingerprint flex connector down onto its socket until it snaps.

    Snap On the Back Cover

    Align the rear cover with the edges of the phone frame. Press firmly along all outer edges until the plastic clips snap flush into place.

    Reinsert the SIM Tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the left side of the phone until it sits flush against the outer frame.
