Step-by-step
- 1
Turn off the phone
1 minPower down your Motorola Moto E6S completely before starting the repair.

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or thin pin into the hole on the side of the phone to eject the SIM tray.

Unclip the back cover
2 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the seam between the rear cover and the display frame near the SIM slot.

Release the perimeter clips
3 minSlide the pick along the entire perimeter of the phone to unlatch the plastic clips holding the back cover.

Remove the back cover
1 minLift and remove the plastic back cover from the phone chassis.

Unscrew the loudspeaker module
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the seven screws securing the lower loudspeaker housing.

Remove the loudspeaker module
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the loudspeaker assembly and lift it out of the phone frame.

Disconnect the interconnect cable
1 minUse a spudger to gently pry up and disconnect the main ribbon flex cable from the lower daughterboard.

Disconnect the antenna cable
1 minUse tweezers to carefully lift the coaxial antenna cable connector straight up off its socket on the sub-board.

Remove the sub-board screw
1 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw securing the daughterboard to the bottom of the frame.

Pry out the daughterboard
2 minGently lever the lower daughterboard up using a spudger and lift it out to expose the primary microphone.

Transfer the microphone rubber boot
2 minPeel the small rubber microphone seal off the original board and transfer it to the microphone port on the new daughterboard.

Install the new daughterboard
2 minPlace the replacement daughterboard into the lower housing, ensuring the microphone port aligns with the frame opening.

Secure the sub-board screw
1 minReinstall the single Phillips #00 screw to hold the new daughterboard in place.

Reconnect the antenna cable
1 minAlign the antenna cable head over its socket on the daughterboard and press down lightly until it snaps into place.

Reconnect the interconnect cable
1 minPosition the main flex cable connector over the sub-board socket and press down firmly to connect it.

Position the loudspeaker module
2 minPlace the lower loudspeaker assembly back into the chassis and press it flush.

Secure the loudspeaker screws
3 minTighten the seven Phillips #00 screws to fully secure the loudspeaker housing.

Snap on the back cover
2 minAlign the back cover over the phone and press firmly along all edges until every clip snaps shut.

Reinsert the SIM card tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot until flush with the side of the phone.
