Power Off the Device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen to shut down the phone completely.

Remove the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole beside the card tray on the left edge and pull the tray out.

Unclip the Back Cover
3 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the seam between the back cover and display frame, sliding around the perimeter to release the plastic clips.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor
2 minCarefully lift the back cover slightly and use a spudger to detach the fingerprint sensor flex cable from the motherboard.

Remove Speaker Housing Screws

1 minApply a small drop of soldering flux over the micro-USB connector's solder pins and mounting legs.

4 minPress a heated soldering iron tip together with desoldering braid onto the through-hole anchor legs to wick away excess solder.

Desolder Data Pins
3 minGently pass the soldering iron with desoldering wick across the rear pin pads to clean the solder off the data contacts.

Remove Damaged Charging Port
2 minGently hold the damaged micro-USB port with tweezers while applying light heat to free it from the board.

Clean Daughterboard Contact Pads
2 minWipe the solder pads clean using isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab to clear remaining debris and flux residue.

Position Replacement Port
2 minAlign the pins and mounting legs of the new micro-USB port precisely with the matching pads on the daughterboard.
