   Power down the phone

   Press and hold the power button on the right edge, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Pry off the rear cover

   Insert a plastic opening tool into the notch at the bottom right corner of the rear cover. Gently twist to release the plastic clips and peel the back cover off.

   Lift out the battery

   Use your fingernail or a plastic opening pick at the bottom notch of the battery compartment to lift and remove the battery.

   Remove SIM and microSD cards

   Slide the nano-SIM card and any installed microSD card out from their respective slots above the battery bay.

   Unscrew the upper midframe cover

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the upper plastic motherboard frame.

   Remove the upper midframe cover

   Insert a spudger under the edge of the upper plastic frame and pop it off the phone housing.

   Disconnect the display flex cable

   Use the flat end of a spudger to gently pry up and disconnect the display flex cable from the top left of the motherboard.

   Disconnect the digitizer flex cable

   Pry open the ZIF connector locking flap using tweezers, then slide the digitizer ribbon cable out of its socket.

   Unscrew the motherboard

   Remove the remaining Phillips screws holding the motherboard to the phone chassis.

    Lift out the motherboard

    Gently pry up the motherboard from the top edge and remove it completely from the phone.

    Unscrew the lower speaker housing

    Remove the Phillips screws securing the lower loudspeaker module at the bottom of the device.

    Remove the speaker housing

    Insert an opening pick under the loudspeaker module and lift it out of the chassis.

    Apply heat to the front screen

    Use a heat gun or hairdryer on medium setting to warm the perimeter of the front screen for 2-3 minutes to soften the display adhesive.

    Attach suction cup to screen

    Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the front display glass.

    Slice through display adhesive

    Pull up on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert an opening pick under the glass and slide it along the edges to cut the glue.

    Lift off the display panel

    Carefully pivot the display glass up and thread its ribbon cables out through the frame cutouts to remove the screen.

    Clean adhesive off the frame

    Scrape remaining adhesive off the metal midframe with a plastic tool and clean the perimeter using isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth.

    Apply fresh display adhesive

    Lay down custom double-sided adhesive strips along the top, bottom, and side edges of the midframe.

    Install the new screen

    Thread the new display's flex cables through the frame cutouts and firmly press the screen glass into the adhesive layer.
