Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the phone is completely off before starting.

Remove the back cover
2 minInsert a plastic prying tool or fingernail into the notch on the bottom edge of the rear cover. Carefully pry and detach the cover from the body.

Remove the battery
1 minLift the battery out from the recess at the bottom of the battery compartment. Set the battery aside safely.

Remove the bottom housing screws
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower speaker frame assembly.

Pry up the lower speaker cover
2 minInsert a spudger beneath the edge of the lower speaker assembly. Gently lift and remove the module from the phone.

Disconnect the coaxial antenna cable
2 minUse precision tweezers or a spudger to carefully pop the black antenna connector off its socket on the daughterboard.

Disconnect the main interconnect cable
2 minPry up the press-fit connector of the main display/board flex cable from the daughterboard socket using a plastic spudger.

Remove the microphone daughterboard
2 minInsert the flat edge of a spudger beneath the board containing the primary microphone. Lift the daughterboard out of the frame.

Set the new microphone daughterboard in place
2 minAlign the replacement daughterboard over the bottom housing recess. Press gently until it sits flush within the frame.

Reconnect the main interconnect cable
1 minAlign the flex cable press connector directly over the daughterboard socket and press down firmly until it clicks.

Reconnect the coaxial antenna cable
2 minPosition the tiny coaxial connector over its board mount and press straight down until you feel a soft snap.

Reposition the lower speaker cover
2 minAlign the plastic speaker housing over the lower daughterboard assembly and press down evenly.

Tighten the bottom housing screws
3 minReinstall and secure all Phillips #000 screws back into the lower speaker cover.

Reinsert the battery
1 minAlign the metal battery contact pads with the gold pins inside the compartment and press the battery flat.

Reattach the rear cover
2 minAlign the back cover over the phone and press firmly along all edges until every plastic clip snaps securely into place.
