Step-by-step

Power off device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen.

Eject SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole beside the SIM tray and press firmly to pop it out.

Unsnap rear cover
3 minInsert a plastic opening tool into the seam near the charging port and slide along the edges to disengage the plastic clips.

Remove rear cover
1 minLift the rear cover away from the phone body and set it aside.

Unscrew upper midframe
4 minRemove the nine Phillips #000 screws securing the plastic motherboard bracket.

Remove upper midframe
2 minUse tweezers to lift the plastic midframe cover off the top of the chassis.

Disconnect battery cable
2 minPry the battery press-connector straight up from the motherboard using a plastic spudger.

Unscrew loudspeaker assembly
3 minRemove the six Phillips #000 screws securing the lower loudspeaker cover.

Remove loudspeaker assembly
2 minPry up and lift out the loudspeaker module to reveal the microphone daughterboard.

Disconnect interconnect flex cable
2 minUse a spudger to pry up the main ribbon cable connector from the daughterboard.

Disconnect antenna cable
2 minGently unclip the coaxial antenna cable head from the lower left side of the board with tweezers.

Remove microphone daughterboard
3 minPry underneath the lower daughterboard containing the primary microphone and lift it from the phone body.

Install new microphone daughterboard
2 minPosition the replacement board into the lower recess and press down gently until seated.

Reconnect antenna cable
2 minAlign and snap the coaxial antenna cable connector back onto the new board.

Reconnect interconnect flex cable
2 minPress the main ribbon cable connector straight down onto the daughterboard until it clicks.

Reinstall loudspeaker assembly
3 minPlace the loudspeaker cover over the bottom section and tighten the six Phillips #000 screws.

Reconnect battery
1 minSnap the battery connector back onto its motherboard socket.

Reattach upper midframe cover
4 minPosition the upper shield over the motherboard and tighten the nine Phillips #000 screws.

Reinstall rear cover
2 minAlign the rear cover over the phone and press firmly along all edges until it snaps back into place.
