   Power Off Phone

   Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before continuing.

   Eject SIM Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the small hole beside the card slot on the left edge. Push firmly to eject the SIM tray, then remove it.

   Unclip Rear Cover

   Insert a thin plastic opening tool into the seam between the rear cover and display near the SIM slot. Gently twist to unhook the first plastic clip.

   Release Perimeter Clips

   Slide the plastic opening tool around the entire outer seam of the phone. Unclip all retaining tabs holding the back cover to the frame.

   Separate Back Cover

   Lift the rear cover away slowly from the right side. Do not pull it away completely yet, as the fingerprint sensor flex cable is still attached.

   Disconnect Fingerprint Cable

   Use precision tweezers to unlock the ZIF connector latch on the motherboard. Carefully pull the fingerprint sensor flex cable out of its socket.

   Remove Upper Frame Screws

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all visible screws securing the top plastic motherboard shield.

   Remove Upper Motherboard Shield

   Insert a flat plastic spudger under the motherboard shield and pry upward. Lift the plastic cover off the device and set it aside.

   Disconnect Battery Connector

   Pry the battery press-connector straight up from its motherboard socket using a plastic spudger.

    Remove Lower Speaker Screws

    Remove the Phillips #00 screws holding down the lower speaker assembly at the bottom of the phone.

    Remove Speaker Module

    Insert a spudger beneath the edge of the lower speaker enclosure and lift it away from the chassis.

    Warm Battery Adhesive

    Apply gentle heat with a hair dryer to the back side of the frame for 60 seconds to soften the adhesive beneath the battery.

    Apply Isopropyl Alcohol

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and side edges of the battery to loosen the glue.

    Pry Up Battery

    Insert a plastic opening card under the bottom edge of the battery. Slowly pry upward to release the glue without bending the battery.

    Clean Battery Recess

    Wipe away any old adhesive residue from the inner battery cavity using a lint-free cloth dipped in isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply New Adhesive

    Peel the backing off new battery adhesive strips and press them firmly into the battery compartment on the frame.

    Install Replacement Battery

    Align the new battery over the recess and press it firmly into place against the adhesive.

    Reconnect Battery Flex

    Align the battery connector flex over the motherboard socket and press down gently until it snaps into place.

    Reinstall Speaker Module

    Place the bottom speaker assembly back into the lower frame. Drive the Phillips #00 screws back in until snug.

    Reattach Upper Motherboard Shield

    Lower the plastic motherboard cover into position and press gently so it sits flat against the motherboard.

    Secure Upper Frame Screws

    Reinstall all Phillips #00 screws into the upper motherboard shield.

    Reconnect Fingerprint Cable

    Slide the fingerprint sensor flex cable back into its ZIF socket and flip the locking lever down to secure it.

    Snap Back Cover On

    Align the rear cover with the phone frame and press firmly along all edges until all plastic tabs snap back into place.

    Reinsert SIM Tray

    Push the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the phone until flush with the body.
