Power Off the Device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the phone is completely powered down before proceeding.

Remove the Back Cover
2 minInsert a plastic pry tool into the notch at the bottom edge of the back cover. Gently lever the cover upward to unclip it from the body.

Remove the Battery
1 minUse your thumb or a plastic spudger to lift the battery out of its recess from the bottom notch. Set the battery aside on a clean surface.

Remove SIM and MicroSD Cards
1 minSlide the SIM card and microSD card out of their respective slots using your fingers. Store them safely for reassembly.

Unscrew the Midframe
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the plastic midframe to the phone chassis. Keep track of all removed screws.

Detach the Midframe Bezel
2 minInsert a plastic opening tool between the display assembly and the plastic midframe. Pry gently around the perimeter to release the retaining clips.

Disconnect the Button Flex Cable
2 minUse the tip of a spudger to flip open the ZIF connector locking tab for the button flex cable. Carefully pull the flex cable out of the socket.

Peel Off the Volume Flex Cable
2 minSlide precision tweezers beneath the volume button flex cable to separate the adhesive backing from the frame. Gently remove the damaged cable assembly.

Remove the Physical Volume Buttons
2 minPush the physical volume button covers inward from the outer frame using tweezers. Clean any dust or residue out of the button cutouts.

Install Replacement Volume Buttons
2 minInsert the new physical volume button covers into their frame cutouts from the inside. Press them outward slightly to confirm correct seating.

Position the New Flex Cable
2 minPeel the protective film from the adhesive on the replacement volume button flex cable. Align the flex cable switches with the physical button covers and press down.

Reconnect the Flex Cable
2 minInsert the end of the flex cable into the motherboard ZIF connector. Press the locking tab down securely to lock the cable in place.

Snap the Midframe into Place
2 minAlign the plastic midframe cover over the phone body. Apply firm pressure around all edges until the plastic clips snap closed.

Reinstall the Midframe Screws
3 minDrive all Phillips #00 screws back into the midframe holes until snug. Avoid overtightening to prevent stripping the plastic threads.

Reinstall Battery and Back Cover
2 minReinsert your SIM and microSD cards, then press the battery back into its bay. Snap the rear cover back onto the phone until fully seated.
