   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully powered down before proceeding.

   Remove the back cover

   Insert an opening tool or fingernail into the notch at the bottom edge of the phone. Pry the back cover away from the chassis.

   Lift out the battery

   Insert a plastic opening tool under the battery notch at the bottom of the compartment. Lift and remove the removable battery.

   Remove SIM and microSD cards

   Slide out any installed SIM card and microSD card from their respective card slots. Place them aside in a safe spot.

   Unscrew the midframe fasteners

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 10 screws securing the inner plastic midframe. Store screws together safely.

   Pry off the plastic midframe

   Insert a plastic opening pick between the midframe and the outer housing. Pry around the perimeter to release the plastic clips.

   Remove the midframe assembly

   Lift the loosened plastic midframe off the phone body. Set the midframe component aside.

   Disconnect the display flex cable

   Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the display cable connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

   Heat the screen perimeter

   Apply heat evenly around the front glass edges with a heat gun or hairdryer for 2 minutes to soften the display adhesive.

    Attach suction cup

    Place a suction cup onto the lower portion of the front glass panel. Press firmly to establish a secure vacuum seal.

    Insert opening pick

    Pull up gently on the suction cup to create a gap between the glass and the frame. Slide a plastic opening pick into the gap.

    Slice front glass adhesive

    Slide the opening pick around all four sides of the front glass panel to slice through the adhesive perimeter.

    Thread flex cable through slot

    Carefully pivot the screen off the frame while guiding the attached ribbon cable through the cutout slot in the chassis.

    Remove the damaged screen

    Lift the broken screen assembly completely away from the phone body. Dispose of loose glass fragments carefully.

    Clean adhesive from frame

    Scrape off residual glue from the frame ledge using a plastic tool, then wipe clean with a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol.

    Dry test the new screen

    Thread the new display flex cable through the frame slot and plug it into the motherboard. Reinsert the battery temporarily to power on and test touch control.

    Disconnect screen and remove battery

    Apply new adhesive strips

    Place pre-cut adhesive strips along the top, bottom, and side ledges of the clean inner phone frame.

    Use tweezers to peel off the protective backing film from all newly applied adhesive strips on the frame.

    Install the new screen assembly

    Feed the display flex cable through the slot and align the new screen with the frame. Press firmly around the edges to set the adhesive.

    Reconnect display cable

    Align and press down on the display flex connector until it snaps firmly onto the motherboard socket.

    Reattach plastic midframe

    Place the midframe over the motherboard and press down on all corners until the retention clips click shut.

    Reinstall midframe screws

    Thread and tighten the 10 Phillips #00 screws back into the midframe until secure.
