Step-by-step
- 1
Power Off Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select 'Power off' on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.
- 2
Remove the Rear Cover
2 minInsert an opening pick or thumbnail into the notch along the bottom edge of the phone. Pry the flexible rear cover away from the chassis until all clips release.
- 3
Remove SIM and MicroSD Trays
1 minPull out the nano-SIM and microSD card trays from their slots on the side of the chassis. Set both card holders aside in a safe spot.
- 4
Remove Midframe Screws
4 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all visible screws securing the midframe to the phone body. Note that one screw may be hidden under a small warranty sticker near the bottom.
- 5
Pry Off Middle Frame
3 minInsert a plastic spudger into the seam between the middle frame and the front glass assembly. Pry around the perimeter to unclip and remove the midframe.
- 6
Disconnect Battery Connector
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery flex cable connector straight up from its motherboard socket. This cuts power to the board and prevents electrical short circuits.
- 7
Unseat the Old Loudspeaker
2 minInsert precision tweezers under the edge of the lower loudspeaker module. Carefully lift the speaker out from its housing cutout.
- 8
Clean Speaker Contacts
2 minLightly wipe the metallic spring contacts on the motherboard using a microfiber cloth slightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol. Ensure no debris or adhesive remains in the speaker cavity.
- 9
Install New Loudspeaker Module
2 minPosition the replacement loudspeaker into the lower frame cavity, aligning its gold contact pads with the motherboard clips. Press down gently until it sits flat.
- 10
Reconnect Battery Cable
1 minAlign the battery flex connector over its socket on the motherboard and press down firmly until it snaps into place.
- 11
Reattach Middle Frame
2 minPlace the middle frame onto the phone body and press firmly along all edges until all plastic clips snap together securely.
- 12
Secure Midframe Screws
4 minReinstall all Phillips #00 screws into the middle frame perimeter. Tighten each screw until snug without over-torquing.
- 13
Reinsert Card Trays
1 minSlide the SIM card and microSD card trays back into their respective slots until flush with the body.
- 14
Snap On Back Cover
2 minAlign the back cover over the rear of the phone and press around the perimeter until every edge snaps firmly shut.
