Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off to safely shut down the device.

Remove the back cover
1 minInsert a plastic opening tool into the notch at the bottom edge and pry the back cover away from the body.

Remove the SIM card
1 minSlide the SIM card out from its dedicated slot using your fingertip or tweezers.

Remove the microSD card
1 minGently pull the microSD card out of its slot if one is installed.

Unscrew the upper midframe screws
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the top portion of the plastic midframe.

Unscrew the lower midframe screws
3 minRemove the remaining Phillips screws along the lower half and bottom edges of the midframe.

Pry up the plastic midframe
2 minInsert an opening pick along the seam between the midframe and the front assembly to release the plastic clips.

Lift away the midframe
1 minSeparate the plastic midframe from the phone chassis and set it aside.

Disconnect the battery cable
1 minUse a plastic spudger to gently pry the battery flex cable connector straight up off the motherboard.

Apply isopropyl alcohol
2 minApply a few drops of high-purity isopropyl alcohol around the edges of the battery to dissolve the adhesive beneath.

Pry up the battery
3 minSlide a flat plastic opening card underneath the battery and slowly lift to slice through the softened adhesive.

Remove the old battery
1 minLift the old battery out of the frame and dispose of it safely.

Clean the battery recess
2 minWipe away any remaining glue residue inside the battery well using a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol.

Apply new battery adhesive
2 minLay down fresh precut battery adhesive strips into the empty battery well.

Insert the new battery
1 minPlace the replacement battery into the frame, pressing gently to secure it to the adhesive.

Reattach the midframe
