Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Shut Down on screen to turn off the device completely.

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the small hole on the left edge of the phone and push firmly to pop out the tray.

Heat the rear cover edges
2 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat to warm the outer edges of the rear panel for two minutes to soften adhesive.

Attach a suction cup
1 minPress a suction cup onto the lower portion of the back panel near the USB port and pull up gently to create a gap.

Slice the panel adhesive

Remove the back cover

Pry off the upper midframe
2 minInsert a plastic spudger under the edge of the upper midframe and lever it up to unclip it from the frame.

Disconnect the battery cable
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up from the motherboard using the flat end of a plastic spudger.

1 minLocate the power button flex connector on the right side of the motherboard and lift it off with a spudger.

Warm the button flex adhesive
1 minApply mild heat to the inner right side frame where the power button flex cable is adhered.

Peel off the power button flex cable
2 minUse precision tweezers to carefully lift the old power button flex cable away from the internal side wall.

Insert the replacement power button flex
2 minAlign the new power button flex cable contacts and internal button pads into the frame cutouts.

Press the flex cable adhesive down
1 minFirmly press along the length of the replacement flex cable with a flat spudger to adhere it to the chassis.

Plug in the button flex connector
1 minAlign the flex connector with its socket on the motherboard and press down until it snaps in place.

Reconnect the battery flex cable
1 minSnap the battery connector back onto its motherboard socket.

Reinstall the midframe housing
3 minPlace the upper midframe back onto the chassis and tighten all Phillips #00 screws securely.

Reseal and attach the back cover
3 minApply pre-cut adhesive or B-7000 adhesive to the outer rim of the frame, then press the back panel firmly into place.
