   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left side and push firmly to pop out the tray.

   Heat the back cover

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low setting to heat the edges of the back cover for two minutes.

   Apply a suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower third of the back cover and press down firmly to seal it.

   Insert a plastic prying pick

   Pull up on the suction cup to create a small gap and slide a plastic opening pick under the back cover.

   Slice the bottom adhesive

   Slide the plastic pick along the bottom edge of the device to cut through the adhesive seal.

   Slice the left edge adhesive

   Guide the pick around the bottom-left corner and move it up along the left side.

   Slice the top edge adhesive

   Move the pick across the top perimeter, taking care near the camera module.

   Slice the right edge adhesive

   Continue sliding the pick down the right edge to free the remaining back cover adhesive.

    Remove the back cover

    Lift the plastic back cover straight off the chassis and set it aside.

    Unscrew the motherboard bracket

    Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the upper motherboard cover.

    Remove the motherboard bracket

    Insert the point of a spudger under the motherboard cover and gently pry it up to remove it.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Use the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery press connector straight up from its socket.

    Unscrew the loudspeaker module

    Remove the Phillips screws securing the loudspeaker module at the bottom of the device.

    Remove the loudspeaker module

    Pry up the loudspeaker module using a plastic spudger and lift it out of the frame.

    Uncover the battery pull-tabs

    Peel back the clear plastic flaps covering the adhesive pull-tabs on the battery edges.

    Pull the first adhesive strip

    Grasp the first adhesive tab with tweezers and pull it out slowly at a low angle until it releases.

    Pull the second adhesive strip

    Grasp the second adhesive tab and pull it smoothly outward at a flat angle to release the other side.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol

    If an adhesive strip snapped, apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol under the battery edge and wait two minutes.

    Pry up the battery

    Insert a wide plastic prying tool under the battery and carefully lever it upward from the frame.

    Lift out the battery

    Grasp the battery by its sides and remove it completely from the housing.

    Clean the battery compartment

    Wipe down the battery well with isopropyl alcohol to remove leftover adhesive residue before installing the new battery.
