Step-by-step

Power off the Moto E30
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select power off. Do not attempt to charge or power on a wet device.

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the upper left edge of the phone. Push firmly until the tray pops out and remove it.

Unclip the back cover
5 minInsert a plastic opening pick between the display frame and plastic back cover near the SIM slot. Pry around the perimeter to release the plastic clips.

Disconnect the fingerprint sensor
2 minSlightly lift the rear cover to reveal the fingerprint ribbon cable. Use a spudger to gently pop the flex connector off the motherboard.

10 minDip a soft anti-static brush in 90%+ isopropyl alcohol and gently scrub away water deposits and corrosion from all circuits and connectors.

8 minScrub the USB-C port, daughterboard surface, and ribbon cable ends with isopropyl alcohol to remove liquid residue.

Dry all cleaned components
15 minUse compressed air to blow away remaining alcohol and liquid, then allow the boards to dry completely in a warm area for at least 30 minutes.
