   Power Off the Device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before starting.

   Eject the SIM Card Tray

   Insert a SIM eject pin into the hole on the left edge of the phone. Press firmly to pop the tray out, then remove it completely.

   Warm the Rear Edges

   Apply mild heat using a hair dryer or heat gun around the outer edges of the rear plastic cover for about one minute. This softens internal perimeter clips and adhesive.

   Unclip the Rear Cover

   Insert a thin plastic prying tool into the seam between the rear cover and the front frame near the bottom. Pry gently and slide along the edges to release the plastic clips.

   Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor Cable

   Slightly lift the rear cover without pulling the attached ribbon cable. Use a spudger to detach the fingerprint reader connector from the motherboard.

   Unscrew the Motherboard Shield

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the plastic upper motherboard shield. Group the screws so they can be reinstalled in their original locations.

   Remove the Motherboard Shield

   Gently lift the plastic motherboard cover off the top section of the frame using tweezers or a spudger.

   Disconnect the Battery Cable

   Pry the battery press connector straight up from its motherboard socket using a plastic spudger. This prevents electrical shorts while working on internal components.

   Disconnect Power Button Cable

   Locate the power and volume button flex cable socket on the side of the motherboard. Pop the connector up using the flat edge of your spudger.

    Peel Up the Old Power Button Flex

    Use fine tweezers to carefully peel the power button flex assembly off the inner chassis frame. Work slowly to avoid leaving adhesive residue behind.

    Position New Power Button Flex

    Remove the protective adhesive film from the replacement power button flex strip. Align the cable contact pads onto the chassis recessed slot and press firm into place.

    Attach Power Button Connector

    Align the flex connector over its motherboard port and press down gently until it clicks firmly into place.

    Reconnect the Battery

    Snap the battery connector back into its motherboard socket using your thumb or a plastic tool.

    Reinstall Motherboard Shield

    Place the upper motherboard shield over the board and secure it with the Phillips #00 screws removed earlier.

    Reattach Back Cover and SIM Tray

    Reconnect the fingerprint flex cable, align the back cover to the phone frame, and press firmly around the edges until all clips snap shut. Reinsert the SIM card tray.
