   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge. Push firmly to pop the tray out and remove it.

   Warm the rear cover

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat to warm the perimeter of the back cover for 1-2 minutes. This softens the plastic tabs and light adhesive.

   Insert prying pick

   Insert a plastic prying tool into the seam between the back cover and the display frame near the SIM card slot.

   Unclip the back cover

   Slide the prying tool along all four edges of the phone. Twist gently to release the plastic clips holding the cover.

   Open the back cover

   Gently lift the back cover from the right side like a book. Do not pull it away completely yet, as the fingerprint sensor cable is still attached.

   Disconnect fingerprint sensor flex

   Use the pointed end of a spudger to pop the fingerprint sensor press connector straight up off the motherboard.

   Unscrew speaker housing

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the seven screws securing the lower speaker assembly.

   Remove speaker assembly

   Insert a spudger under the top edge of the speaker module and pry it out of the chassis.

    Disconnect main interconnect flex

    Use a spudger to disconnect the main ribbon cable from the top left corner of the daughterboard.

    Disconnect antenna cable

    Grasp the white coaxial antenna cable head with tweezers and gently pry it straight up from the sub-board.

    Remove sub-board screw

    Unscrew the single Phillips #000 screw securing the sub-board to the phone frame.

    Pry up sub-board

    Insert a spudger beneath the sub-board edge and lift it out from the phone enclosure.

    Apply soldering flux

    Apply a liberal amount of soldering flux to the USB-C port anchor legs and signal pins on the sub-board.

    Desolder anchor pins

    Place desoldering braid over the port solder joints and apply heat with a soldering iron to wick away old solder.

    Remove old charging port

    Heat the anchor pins simultaneously with your soldering iron while gently pulling the damaged USB-C port off with tweezers.

    Clean sub-board pads

    Wipe the exposed contact pads with a lint-free swab dampened with 99% isopropyl alcohol to remove residual flux.

    Position new charging port

    Align the replacement USB-C port anchor legs into the mounting holes on the sub-board.

    Solder replacement port

    Apply fresh solder to the anchor legs and fine signal contacts using a fine-tip soldering iron.

    Reinstall sub-board

    Set the repaired sub-board back into the phone frame and tighten the single Phillips #000 screw.

    Reconnect flex and antenna cables

    Snap the main interconnect flex connector into place and reattach the coaxial antenna cable head using tweezers.

    Reinstall speaker assembly

    Place the speaker module over the sub-board and secure it with the seven Phillips #000 screws.

    Snap back cover into place

    Reconnect the fingerprint sensor flex cable, align the back cover, and press firmly along the perimeter until all clips snap tightly.
