   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select power off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool or thin paperclip into the hole next to the SIM tray. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it.

   Create an opening seam

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick between the display bezel and the rear cover near the SIM slot. Gently twist to create a small gap.

   Unclip the back cover

   Slide the plastic pick along the perimeter of the phone to release the internal plastic clips. Work around all four edges until the cover moves freely.

   Lift the rear cover

   Gently hinge open the rear cover from the right side. Do not pull it away completely yet, as the fingerprint ribbon cable is still attached.

   Disconnect the fingerprint sensor

   Use a plastic spudger to pry the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector straight up from the motherboard. Remove the back cover entirely.

   Remove motherboard screws

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws holding the plastic upper motherboard shield in place.

   Detach motherboard frame

   Pry up the edges of the upper motherboard shield using a spudger and lift it off the frame.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Use the pointed end of a plastic spudger to detach the battery flex cable from its motherboard socket.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol

    Apply a few drops of high-purity isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom edges of the battery. This helps break down the strong adhesive beneath it.

    Wait for adhesive to soften

    Allow two to three minutes for the isopropyl alcohol to penetrate and soften the battery tape.

    Pry up the battery

    Insert a plastic card or wide flat spudger beneath the battery side edges. Gently lift upward to detach it from the phone body.

    Remove the old battery

    Lift the battery out of the frame completely and set it aside in a safe, non-conductive area.

    Clean adhesive residue

    Wipe the exposed metal battery well with a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol to clean away remaining adhesive.

    Install new adhesive strips

    Peel the backing off new battery adhesive strips and stick them flat into the battery compartment.

    Place the new battery

    Remove the top protective film from the adhesive and press the new battery firmly into the compartment.

    Attach battery connector

    Align the battery flex cable and press down on the socket until it clicks into position on the motherboard.

    Reinstall motherboard frame

    Position the upper plastic motherboard shield over the top section of the board and snap it into alignment.

    Secure motherboard screws

    Insert and tighten all the Phillips #00 screws into the motherboard cover until snug.

    Reconnect fingerprint sensor

    Hold the rear cover near the chassis and press the fingerprint flex connector back onto the motherboard connector.

    Snap back cover in place

    Align the back cover with the body and press firmly along all edges until all plastic clips snap tight.

    Reinsert SIM card tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the phone until flush with the body.
