   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the Power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM card tray on the left side. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it.

   Heat the rear cover edges

   Apply a heat gun or heated pad to the perimeter of the back cover for about two minutes. This softens the internal plastic clip friction and adhesive.

   Create an opening gap

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull up slightly. Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap between the frame and rear panel.

   Unclip the back cover

   Slide the plastic pick along the sides and top edges to release the internal plastic retaining clips. Lift the back cover free from the phone body.

   Unscrew the upper motherboard shield

   Use a PH00 precision screwdriver to remove the screws securing the top protective motherboard cover. Keep the screws organized by location.

   Remove the upper motherboard shield

   Gently lift the plastic motherboard shield up and away from the top housing using tweezers or a spudger.

   Disconnect the battery flex cable

   Use the flat end of a spudger to pop the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard socket to cut power.

   Unscrew the lower speaker enclosure

   Remove the PH00 screws securing the loudspeaker assembly at the bottom of the device.

    Remove the loudspeaker assembly

    Pry up the loudspeaker enclosure using a plastic spudger and set it aside to expose the charging port subboard.

    Disconnect the interconnect flex cable

    Use a spudger to carefully disconnect the main display/board ribbon cable from the subboard connector.

    Disconnect the antenna coaxial cable

    Use fine tweezers to grip the metal head of the antenna cable and gently pull it straight up off its subboard terminal.

    Remove the faulty charging port board

    Insert a flat opening tool beneath the subboard to break any mild underlying adhesive, then lift the board out of the chassis.

    Position the new charging port subboard

    Align the replacement charging port board into its recess at the bottom of the phone, pressing lightly until flush.

    Attach the antenna coaxial cable

    Align the coaxial cable head over its socket on the subboard and press down gently until it snaps securely into place.

    Connect the main interconnect cable

    Align the interconnect flex cable connector over the subboard press socket and push firmly until it clicks.

    Reinstall the loudspeaker assembly

    Place the loudspeaker unit back over the subboard, ensuring it aligns with the locator pegs.

    Secure the lower speaker screws

    Drive the PH00 screws back into the loudspeaker assembly until snug.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Align and press the battery connector back onto its terminal on the mainboard.

    Reinstall the upper motherboard shield

    Position the top plastic shield back over the motherboard and tighten all retaining screws.

    Reattach the rear cover

    Align the back cover over the phone and press firmly along the edges to snap all plastic clips back into position.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the phone until flush with the frame.
