Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen to turn off the device completely.

Remove the accent band
2 minPry up near the lower notch with your fingernail or a plastic pick to detach the flexible accent band from the rim.

Eject SIM and microSD cards
1 minSlide any installed SIM card and microSD card out from their side slots.

Remove the midframe screws
4 minUse a T3 Torx screwdriver to remove all 14 perimeter screws holding the midframe to the display assembly.

Unclip the midframe
3 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the seam between the midframe and the front bezel, sliding along the edges to release the clips.

Separate the midframe assembly
1 minLift the rear midframe clear off the front display assembly and set it aside.

Disconnect the battery flex cable

Disconnect the antenna cable
2 minUse fine tweezers to pop the coaxial antenna cable connector off the lower microphone sub-board.

Disconnect the microphone board flex
2 minGently lift the ribbon flex connector for the bottom microphone board off the mainboard terminal using a spudger.

Pry out the microphone board
2 minSlide the edge of a plastic spudger under the small lower sub-board and lift it out of the lower chassis notch.

Install the new microphone board
2 minSet the replacement microphone sub-board into the lower recess, aligning the rubber microphone gasket with the frame opening.

Reconnect the microphone flex cable
2 minAlign and press down on the microphone ribbon cable connector until it snaps onto the board.

Reconnect the antenna cable
2 minPlace the circular coaxial antenna head directly over its motherboard socket and snap it into place.

Reconnect the battery cable
1 minPress the battery press-fit connector firmly down onto its socket on the motherboard.

Snap the midframe onto the frame
2 minAlign the midframe over the front housing and press down around the edges until all plastic tabs snap shut.

Reinstall perimeter Torx screws
4 minDrive and tighten all 14 T3 Torx screws back into the rear midframe.

Reattach accent band and cards
2 minReinsert your SIM and microSD cards, then snap the flexible outer band back around the phone border.
