Step-by-step
- 1
Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

Remove the outer accent band
2 minPry up the flexible plastic accent band surrounding the outer edge using a plastic opening tool. Peel the band completely off the frame.

Eject the SIM card
1 minPull the nano-SIM card out from its designated slot on the exposed side frame.

Eject the microSD card
1 minSlide out the microSD card from its slot to prevent physical damage during disassembly.

Unscrew the T3 Torx frame screws
4 minUse a T3 Torx driver to remove all fourteen screws securing the rear midframe panel.

Unclip the midframe housing
3 minInsert a plastic spudger between the midframe panel and front glass assembly. Pry around the perimeter to release the plastic clips.

Remove the midframe panel
1 minLift the midframe assembly away from the mainboard and set it aside.

Disconnect the battery flex cable
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to gently lever the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

Warm the battery adhesive
2 minApply mild heat with a hair dryer to the back of the battery for 30 seconds to soften the factory glue.

Pry up the battery
3 minInsert a flat plastic pry tool under the side of the battery. Slowly pry upwards to release it from the adhesive.

Remove the old battery
1 minLift the spent battery completely out of the chassis.

Clean the battery compartment
2 minDampen a lint-free cloth with isopropyl alcohol and wipe away residual adhesive from the well.

Apply new adhesive strips
2 minPeel the protective backing off new adhesive strips and press them firmly into the battery compartment.

Install the new battery
2 minPlace the replacement battery into the compartment, pressing down firmly to secure it to the fresh adhesive.

Connect the battery flex cable
2 minAlign the battery flex connector over its motherboard socket and press down until it clicks into place.

Reposition the midframe panel
2 minAlign the midframe cover with the device frame and snap all internal perimeter clips back into place.

Reinstall the midframe screws
4 minDrive the fourteen T3 Torx screws back into the rear midframe panel until snug.

Reinsert the cards
1 minSlide the nano-SIM and microSD cards back into their respective slots.

Attach the outer accent band
2 minHook one side of the plastic outer band onto the housing and press it firmly along the edges to seal the rim.
