Power Off Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the device.

Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the small hole beside the SIM card tray to pop it out.

Pry Rear Cover
3 minInsert a thin plastic opening tool into the seam between the rear cover and screen bezel near the SIM tray slot.

Unclip Rear Cover
3 minSlide the opening tool around all edges of the frame to release the plastic retaining clips.

Disconnect Fingerprint Cable
2 minSlightly lift the back cover and use a spudger to pop the fingerprint sensor ribbon cable off the motherboard.

Remove Speaker Screws
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower loudspeaker housing.

Remove Loudspeaker Module
2 minWedge an opening pick underneath the lower speaker assembly and lift it out of the chassis.

Disconnect Interconnect Cable
1 minPry up the lower end of the main flex ribbon cable from the sub-board using a plastic spudger.

Disconnect Antenna Cable
2 minUse fine tweezers or a spudger to carefully unclip the coaxial antenna connector from the daughterboard.

Remove Old Daughterboard
2 minInsert a flat spudger under the original daughterboard containing the faulty microphone and gently pry it up.

Transfer Microphone Gasket
2 minTransfer the rubber microphone seal from the old board onto the new microphone board if it is not pre-installed.

Install New Daughterboard
2 minPlace the new microphone board into the bottom recessed cavity and press down lightly to seat it.

Reconnect Antenna Cable
2 minAlign the antenna connector over its socket on the daughterboard and press firmly until it snaps into place.

Reconnect Interconnect Cable
1 minPress the main flex ribbon cable connector directly down onto the new board to secure the connection.

Position Loudspeaker Module
1 minAlign the loudspeaker housing over the bottom assembly and press it flat into the chassis frame.

Secure Speaker Screws
2 minReinstall the Phillips screws to firmly hold the loudspeaker module and daughterboard in place.

Reconnect Fingerprint Sensor
2 minHold the back cover close to the frame and snap the fingerprint sensor flex cable back onto the motherboard socket.

Snap On Rear Cover
2 minAlign the rear cover with the chassis and squeeze around the perimeter until all plastic clips snap tight.

Reinsert SIM Tray
1 minPush the SIM card tray back into its slot until it sits flush with the side of the device.
