Step-by-step

Power down and eject SIM tray
2 minTurn off the phone completely to prevent electrical damage. Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left side and press firmly to pop it out.

Unclip the rear plastic cover
5 minInsert a plastic opening pick between the screen frame and rear panel. Slide the pick around the perimeter to pop open all plastic clips.

Disconnect the fingerprint sensor flex

2 minUse precision tweezers to pry the antenna cable head straight up from its gold metal socket on the board.

Remove the front-facing camera
2 minDisconnect the front camera flex connector and lift the camera module out of its frame recess.

Unscrew logic board fasteners
2 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw securing the logic board down to the phone frame.

Lift the logic board out
3 minGently lift the top edge of the logic board and pull it away from the chassis.

Clean contacts with isopropyl alcohol
5 minApply 99% isopropyl alcohol to a soft brush and scrub away any corrosion or residue on board contacts.

Resolder damaged board components
15 minApply flux to cracked solder joints or failed components and carefully reflow them using a fine-tip soldering iron.

Reinstall the logic board
3 minAlign the repaired logic board with the frame cutouts and press it down flush into the housing.

Reconnect flex cables and top bracket
