Power Off the Device

2 minInsert a plastic opening tool or fingernail into the notch at the bottom edge of the phone. Pry upward to unclip and remove the flexible outer shell.

Remove the SIM Card

2 minFlip up the small locking lever on the display ZIF socket with a spudger. Slide the display flex cable out of the socket.

Disconnect Touch Screen Cable
2 minGently pry up the digitizer flex cable connector off its press-fit socket on the motherboard using a spudger.

Unscrew the Motherboard
1 minUse the T4 Torx screwdriver to remove the single screw securing the top section of the motherboard.

Lift Out the Motherboard
2 minGently lift the motherboard from its top edge to pivot it out of the front housing. Set the motherboard aside on an anti-static surface.

Heat the Display Edges
3 minApply heat evenly around the outer edges of the front screen for 2 minutes using a heat gun or hairdryer on a low setting.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a small suction cup firmly onto the upper half of the display near the speaker opening.

Slice Screen Adhesive
5 minPull up gently on the suction cup while inserting a plastic opening pick beneath the glass bezel. Slide the pick around all four edges to cut the adhesive.

3 minCarefully lift the display assembly away from the frame while guiding the attached ribbon cables through the frame slot.

4 minDampen a microfiber cloth with 91% isopropyl alcohol and wipe away old adhesive and glass dust from the bezel frame.

Apply New Display Adhesive
4 minPeel the backing off pre-cut adhesive strips and place them precisely along the perimeter rim of the front frame.

Thread New Screen Cables
2 minGuide the digitizer and display flex cables of the replacement screen assembly through the dedicated slot in the chassis frame.

Press Screen Into Place
3 minAlign the replacement display assembly over the front frame bezel and press down firmly along the perimeter to adhere it.

Reinstall Motherboard
3 minPosition the motherboard back into the frame housing, making sure no flex cables are trapped beneath it. Tighten the single T4 Torx screw.

Reconnect Display Cables
