Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off to ensure the phone is completely shut down.

Remove the back cover
1 minInsert a plastic prying tool or your fingernail into the notch near the micro-USB port and lift off the cover.

Eject the SIM and microSD cards
1 minSlide out any installed SIM card and microSD card from their respective slots on the side.

Remove upper Torx T3 screws
2 minUse a T3 Torx screwdriver to remove the upper screws securing the inner plastic midframe.

Remove lower Torx T3 screws
3 minUnscrew the remaining T3 Torx screws located along the lower edge and sides of the midframe.

Unclip the inner midframe
2 minInsert a plastic spudger into the seam between the midframe and the front assembly to unhook the plastic clips.

Lift away the midframe
1 minCarefully remove the inner plastic midframe from the phone body and set it aside.

Unlock the battery ZIF connector
2 minUse a spudger to gently flip up the small retaining flap on the battery motherboard socket.

Disconnect the battery flex cable
1 minUse tweezers to carefully slide the battery ribbon cable straight out of its socket.

Warm the battery adhesive
2 minApply mild heat with a hair dryer to the front screen for 30 seconds to loosen the battery glue underneath.

Pry out the old battery
3 minInsert a flat plastic prying tool underneath the battery and gently lift it out of the recess.

Clean old adhesive residue
2 minApply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol to the battery well and wipe away remaining adhesive.

Apply new battery adhesive
2 minPlace double-sided battery adhesive strips into the housing, leaving the protective film tabs accessible.

Position the replacement battery
2 minPeel off the adhesive backing and firmly press the new battery into the battery compartment.

Connect the battery flex cable
2 minSlide the new battery flex cable into the socket and press down the connector locking flap.

Reattach the inner midframe
2 minAlign the plastic midframe over the phone and press down firmly around the edges until clips snap into place.

Secure midframe screws
3 minReinsert and tighten all T3 Torx screws to hold the midframe tightly against the chassis.

Reinsert SIM and microSD cards
