Step-by-step

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM ejector tool into the hole on the top edge of the phone to pop out the SIM card tray.

Heat the rear glass
3 minApply heat around the outer edges of the back glass using a heat gun for approximately two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup
2 minPlace a suction cup on the lower back cover and pull gently to create a slight gap between the glass and the frame.

Slice perimeter adhesive
4 minInsert a thin plastic opening pick into the gap and slice along the bottom and sides to separate the rear glass adhesive.

Remove rear cover
1 minLift the rear glass off the frame and clear away any remaining adhesive stringers.

Unscrew lower speaker assembly
2 minRemove the seven Phillips #00 screws securing the lower loudspeaker assembly over the daughterboard.

Pry up loudspeaker module
2 minInsert a spudger beneath the edge of the loudspeaker housing and lift it straight up out of the phone.

Disconnect the battery
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to disconnect the battery flex cable from the main motherboard for safety.

Disconnect ribbon cables
2 minUnplug the main display and interconnect flex connectors from the lower microphone daughterboard.

Disconnect antenna cables
2 minGently pry up the blue and white antenna coaxial cables attached to the daughterboard using precision tweezers.

Remove microphone daughterboard
2 minPry up the lower daughterboard containing the primary microphone assembly from the bottom of the chassis.

Install replacement board
2 minAlign the new microphone daughterboard into the bottom cavity and press gently until it sits flush.
