Step-by-step

Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen to shut down the device completely.

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or small paperclip into the hole on the right edge of the phone to remove the SIM and microSD card tray.

Heat the back glass
3 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the perimeter of the rear glass for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

Attach the suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear glass cover and press firmly to secure suction.

Create an opening gap
2 minPull up gently on the suction cup until a tiny gap opens between the rear glass and the frame.

Insert an opening pick
1 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created at the bottom edge of the device.

Slice the perimeter adhesive
4 minGlide the plastic pick slowly around all four edges of the back cover to slice through the adhesive perimeter.

Remove the rear glass
2 minLift the rear glass cover away from the chassis and set it safely aside.

Unscrew the upper midframe cover
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the ten screws securing the upper wireless charging pad and midframe.

Remove upper wireless charging pad
2 minGently pry up with a spudger and remove the top wireless charging pad to gain full board access.

Unscrew the lower loudspeaker assembly
2 minRemove the six Phillips #000 screws securing the loudspeaker assembly at the bottom of the device.

Pry out the loudspeaker
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger beneath the edge of the loudspeaker housing and pry it out of its slot.

Position the new loudspeaker
2 minAlign the replacement loudspeaker assembly with the bottom cavity and press it flat into position.

Secure the speaker screws
2 minReinstall and tighten the six Phillips #000 screws to hold the loudspeaker firmly in place.

Reinstall upper midframe cover
3 minPlace the wireless charging pad back into position and secure it with the ten Phillips screws.

Clean residual adhesive
3 minApply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol to a cloth and wipe away old adhesive from the frame and rear glass edges.

Apply replacement adhesive strip
3 minAlign the custom back cover adhesive sticker onto the frame perimeter and press it down smooth.

Reattach rear glass cover
2 minAlign the back glass with the phone frame and press firmly along all edges to seal the adhesive.

Reinsert the SIM tray
1 minSlide the SIM and microSD card tray back into the right side slot until it sits flush.
