Step-by-step
- 1
Power off phone and eject SIM tray
1 minTurn off the device completely. Insert a SIM eject tool into the tray hole on the side to remove the SIM and microSD card tray.

Heat rear glass panel perimeter
2 minApply heat around the edges of the back cover using a heat gun set on low for 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction handle near bottom rear edge
1 minPress the suction cup firmly near the bottom edge of the glass back cover. Pull upward gently to create a small gap.

Insert opening pick into rear gap
2 minSlide a plastic opening pick into the gap created beneath the back panel glass. Keep it shallow to avoid damaging internal components.

Slice rear panel adhesive
3 minSlide the pick around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the adhesive. Reapply heat if the glue resists.

Disconnect fingerprint sensor ribbon cable
2 minSlightly lift the rear cover and use a spudger to pop off the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector from the board.

Remove rear panel
1 minLift the rear glass cover completely off the phone body and set it aside.

Remove Phillips #00 screws from upper bracket
3 minUnscrew the ten Phillips #00 screws holding the upper midframe and wireless charging coil in place.

Lift out wireless charging coil assembly
2 minGently pry up the top plastic cover with attached wireless charging coil and remove it from the frame.

Remove Phillips #00 screws securing loudspeaker
2 minUnscrew the six Phillips #00 screws holding down the lower loudspeaker module.

Pry out lower speaker module
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the loudspeaker assembly and lift it out from the bottom chassis.

Disconnect battery ribbon cable
1 minUse a plastic spudger to pry the battery press connector straight up from the motherboard.

Disconnect display ribbon cable
1 minPry up the main display flex cable connector attached to the lower portion of the motherboard.

Disconnect front camera connectors
2 minUnplug the front dual-camera ribbon connectors from the top section of the motherboard.

Remove motherboard from housing
3 minCarefully tilt up and lift out the motherboard assembly from the phone body.

Remove earpiece speaker from frame
2 minUse fine tweezers to gently pry the earpiece speaker out of its recessed notch at the top of the frame.

Remove vibration motor using tweezers
2 minPry up the small circular vibration motor from its housing near the top corner.

Apply heat behind battery compartment
2 minHeat the front display area directly over the battery for 2 minutes to loosen the battery glue beneath.

Pry battery out from chassis
3 minInsert a flat plastic spudger underneath the battery side and lever it out carefully without bending it.

Heat front display glass edges
3 minHeat all four outer edges of the front glass screen with a heat gun to soften the display adhesive.

Insert opening pick under screen assembly
2 minPress a suction cup onto the front glass and slide a plastic pick between the display panel and plastic frame.

Slice adhesive around entire screen perimeter
4 minRun the pick along the perimeter of the screen assembly to fully slice the adhesive layer.

Thread screen flex cable and remove screen
2 minGuide the display flex cable through the frame slot while removing the broken screen assembly completely.

Clean residual adhesive from frame edges
3 minScrape away remaining glue bits from the inner frame using a spudger and clean with isopropyl alcohol.

Apply fresh adhesive strips to frame
3 minPlace pre-cut display adhesive strips around the rim of the frame, pressing firmly before peeling protective backing.

Thread flex cable and align new screen
3 minPass the flex ribbon of the replacement display through the frame hole and seat the new glass panel evenly into place.
