Step-by-step
- 1
Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the display screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

Heat the rear glass panel
3 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer evenly along the edges of the back glass cover for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach a suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back glass panel and press firmly to create a seal.

Insert a plastic prying tool
2 minPull up gently on the suction cup to create a thin gap, then insert a plastic prying pick into the seam.

Slice the rear adhesive
4 minSlide the plastic pick along the perimeter of the back glass to slice through all remaining adhesive.

Remove the rear glass panel
2 minCarefully lift the rear glass panel off the phone body, ensuring you do not strain any attached cable connectors.

Unscrew the plastic midframe
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all visible screws securing the upper midframe and wireless charging module.

Remove the plastic midframe
2 minInsert a spudger under the midframe edge to gently unclip and remove the plastic bracket from the phone.

Disconnect the battery cable
1 minPry the battery press-fit connector straight up off the motherboard using a plastic spudger to prevent short circuits.

Disconnect the power button flex connector
2 minLocate the power button flex connector on the side of the motherboard and pop it up with a spudger.

Peel up the power button flex
3 minUse fine tweezers to carefully unstick the power button flex circuit strip from the internal metal frame.

Position the new power button flex
2 minRemove protective backing from the new power button flex strip and press it securely into the frame channel.

Connect the power button flex cable
1 minAlign the press connector over its motherboard terminal and gently press down until it clicks into place.

Reconnect the battery cable
1 minSnap the battery press connector firmly back onto its motherboard socket.

Reinstall the plastic midframe
3 minPosition the plastic midframe over the motherboard, press down to engage clips, and tighten all Phillips screws.

Seal the rear glass cover
3 minApply new pre-cut adhesive along the rear frame border, press the back glass down, and hold firmly for 1 minute.
